Merlin’s Pet Portrait Photoshoot

Merlin – he was my childhood pet and he was magical. He brought so much love and joy into my family’s life that not a day goes by that he is not missed. The photos below are memorable to me because I was able to capture Merlin’s spirit and beauty during one of our last walks together, before he passed away a few months later.

I just bought my camera, drove down to Braintree to pick up this bad boy, and together we headed to Barecove Park for our first doggie photoshoot walking session. At the time, I had no idea how to fully operate my camera, or really how to edit pictures, but Merlin did not care, he was happy to trout along, play with other dogs, and take a quick dip in the river. It’s been a bit over 2 years since but he is always in my heart.

It was at this moment I realized I wanted to focus on portraits, both people and pets. We love our pets, they are a part of our family and are truly a gift to mankind. I mean, who else greets you every day like its the first time they have seen you! I live to capture these moments.
